The Tree of the Family Challinor

Michael Graham Challinor Born at Consel Staffordshire on the 16th of March 1955

if i travel back in time to and list all the male generations up to myself there are a total of  five other male Challenor/Challinors before me beginning with ~

George Challenor born in longton Satffordshire in the year 1782

Thomas Challenor born in Longton Staffordshire in the year 1823

Alfred Challenor/Challinor born in Longton staffordshire in the year 1849

Alfred Challinor born in Leek Staffordshire in the year 1884

Leonard Challinor born in Leek Staffordshire in the year 1911

Michael Graham Challinor born at Consel Staffordshire in the year of 1955

So from the birth of George To myself  and after the birth of only six family members there is a time span of One hundred and seventy three years any family members born in 2018 the time span is Two hundred & thirty six years

From that small crossection six Challenors/Challinor men their brothers, sisters and their children has grown a huge family, also uniting many other families through those years since the birth of George in 1782  all of these decedents from George have taken many different directions during their lives some remarkable and some simply tragic.

At first we built up a family tree but after looking at it it was just a load of names on a page a metre square and quite frankly looked pretty un interesting and told nothing about the persons life, their family etc so unsatisfied and with the help and support of my sisters Vera and Sheila beginning in 2017 we began to search and record  hundreds of records, and have spoken to many other family members collecting photographs from them slowly building up a picture of the lives of our ancestors and their families back to George which all has now been compiled together into a book which we felt would be of much more interest than a few hundred names on a page.

The accompanying booklet is full of the records and many color photographs of family members as well as an insite into life in "The Work House", possible ancestors of George Challenor born in 1782,

a brief look at working life in the 19th & the early 20th century including Shoe making, Ironstone mining, the Froghall Limekilns in the late 18th-19th Century with photographs taken during operations there, working in coalmines and the pottery industry.  There are many gaps yet to fill in our family record which we intend to continue research and we shall endeavor to research beyond George Challinor born 1782 so at this moment the book is not complete, it may never be! what we are hoping for as a result of this site is that family members included or not included in the book will contact one of us so we can add them or some photographs

The record its self includes parts of other family members who have married members of the Challinor family we would be delighted to hear from every one

We would be happy to let any family member have a copy of the current edition of

"The Tree of the Family Challinor" in Book form

Or as an alternative it can be sent as an email in the form of a P D F file or on a memory stick in the Form of a P D F file

All research by :-
